Israel’s Political Theatre
“Israelis awoke Wednesday to find that their parliamentary elections had yielded not a new government but political gridlock instead, along with the prospect of weeks of wrangling and deal making before the country’s direction becomes clear.
Israel needs to look outside the Middle East when dealing with Hamas. They are increasingly showing that they are unswayed by the opinions of outsiders and while this may have it’s positive aspects, the more they lose the respect of the world, the hard their job becomes.
The anti-Israeli, and often anti-Semitic attitudes toward the Jewish state have always been there but they are gaining traction. Why? While Israel has executed it’s dealings with Hamas in Gaza in a way that it sees fit, the rest of the world is not so pleased. All of the sudden, the Israelites are Goliath and the Palestinians are David. It seems that much of the world sees Israel as the oppressor and the terrorists as the innocent victims.
To compound the issue we have a most likely racist leading the government in Bibi, who has zero interest in peace with the Palestinians. Because, such a peace, would put the man out of a job.
